About the Road Races
The Burlington Road Race is an out and back race of approximately 104 miles. The race begins in Burlington at the Port of Burlington Building on the Riverfront adjacent to registration. There is a neutral start through the city. The course goes north from Burlington on County Highway 99, turning north on X61 and east on G44 to Grandview - THERE IS NO LONGER A LOOP IN WAPELLO OR MEDIAPOLIS! The return trip is on Highway 99 back to Burlington for the finish on Main Street in front of the post office. The terrain is gently rolling on Highway 99. The turn around in Grandview is on city streets. There will be a feed zone in Grandview. Maps will be provided to all entrants at registration. Team support crews and vehicles are not allowed on the race course. Use US Highway 61 to get to the feed zone in Grandview and return. Neutral support wheel vans will be provided. Registration is from Noon to 2:15 pm at the Port of Burlington Building. Front Street, Burlington, Iowa. Race time is 3:15 pm sharp!
The Burlington - MEPO Road Race is an out and back race of approximately 46 miles. ATTENTION!!! The race begins in Burlington - this is a change from past years. This is a Cat 3 & 4 race originating in Burlington traveling mostly Highway 99 with a short loop in Mediapolis and returning to finish in downtown Burlington on Main Street. Registration Noon to 3:15 pm at the Welcome Center in the Port of Burlington Building. Front Street, Burlington, Iowa. Race time is 4:15 pm sharp!
The Mediapolis-Burlington Road Race is a point to point race mostly on Highway 99 of approximately 23 miles. It was conceived to give novice racers the opportunity to road race within their skill level. The race begins in Mediapolis. Registration is from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Mediapolis Fire Department - 412 Main Street - Mediapolis, Iowa. Estimated race starting time is 5:30 pm. The start of this race will be approximately 5 to 10 minutes after the Burlington - MEPO Road race makes its loop in Mediapolis.
